Confession: I’ve never worn a maxi. No maxi skirt, no maxi dress, nothing. I think it’s cause I like my legs to be free, and I’ve also struggled getting one that is the right length on me, as they always come up a little short. But after looking at this simple black maxi on the gorgeous Jessica from Tuula, and getting my first ever maxi skirt a few weeks ago, I know I’ve gotta get a maxi dress this summer. I’m taking the plunge. Please throw any tips on where to find a good maxi dress my way! I can’t wait to have fun styling it. I’m imagining one with black Converse and a neon satchel for a casual daytime look and neon heels and a metallic bag for the night.

Try H&M for ridiculously long black jersey maxis: I had to hack half a foot off mine and I’m 5’7″! I usually layer a crop top or sweater over mine, but I’d love to wear one as simply as this photo. Enjoy your hol!

Great sunglasses! The dress looks so elegant on you. I like wearing a broad statement belt with maxis. Maybe you could give that a try 🙂

It’s not me Danielle! But thanks for the tip, might give it a go. I’ve gone off broad belts though, I like little skinny ones as my silly waist is too small for larger ones! x

I have a similar problem to you, but the opposite – they are all way to long for me! Also, because I am short I think they make me look even shorter and a bit silly! I do have one maxi I adore though, vintage petite!
Ah some of my favourite pieces are vintage 🙂 well I guess it’s all about finding the one perfect for your shape x
