shorts: Nasty Gal, top: Topshop, jackets: Topshop, Miss Selfridge, socks: Topshop, shoes: Whistles

Looking at these photos there seems to be a schoolgirl vibe going on … maybe it’s the long socks, blazer and backpack combo! But that wasn’t intentional, promise πŸ˜‰ I just really wanted to take these new Nasty Gal shorts on an outing and since it was too cold to go barelegged I put on these socks and layered up with two jackets. I’m a major cold wus but this outfit kept me nice and warm.

I found finding shoes to go with long socks Β really difficult! Settled on these pink plimsoles as they match the shorts. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what shoes to wear with them?

Thanks πŸ˜€ I’m also not a huge pink fan but you’re right, the distressing is cool. You can get the backpack from Topshop!

Thanks for your lovely comment! I do love long socks but it’s so difficult to pair them with shoes, much easier wearing them indoors πŸ™‚ do you have a shoe recommendation for them? x

I just started looking at your blog and I am in love! You have great style. I wear/would wear long socks with brogues, penny loafers, clogs and doc martens.

Not a problem! i agree shoes can be difficult i think simplicity is the best. The shoes you wore were perfect for the outfit but I also think a small heel is a good choice, oxford type shoes. I even like the knee high boot look but sometimes the socks are just as nice when turned down under your knee! Worth experimenting! I like to see co-ordination of the colours – preferably pastel type ones. Can I email you sometime?

Haha thanks Jamie πŸ˜€ I love them so much but they’re better in summer, not so good in rainy English winter!
